ACTC Surgical Technology Partners with UK St. Claire HealthCare
ASHLAND, Ky. – Ashland Community & Technical College’s Surgical Technology program is excited to announce a new partnership with UK St. Claire HealthCare.
Thanks to this recent partnership, UK St. Claire HealthCare is looking to sponsor motivated individuals to attend ACTC’s Surgical Technology program and begin their journey with St. Claire.
“This partnership is an incredible opportunity for our students and the profession of Surgical Technology in our area,” shared Heather Cantrell, ACTC’s Surgical Technology Program Coordinator.
“The surgical patients of UK St. Claire HealthCare can be assured that they receive the highest quality of surgical care by Surgical Technologists who will have graduated from our program.”
The Surgical Technologist is an integral part of the team of medical practitioners providing surgical care to patients. They perform under direct supervision of a surgeon to provide the highest standard of care to surgical patients from the operating room to various medical settings.
The Surgical Technology program at ACTC is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, a postsecondary accrediting agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
According to the CAAHEP website, accreditation in the health-related disciplines works to assure a well-prepared and qualified workforce is providing health care services.
Upon completing the national certification exam via the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, graduates of the Surgical Technology program at ACTC are Certified Surgical Technologists, the only nationally recognized certification for this profession.
