Paintsville, Ky. — After a nine day layoff Lawrence Co. ( 14-6 ) dropped a 7-1 decision to Johnson Central ( 18-9 ) on Thursday evening.

7th grader Brinley Baisden doubled in her only plate appearance, Addalyn Woods singled and scored a run, Abby Maynard also singled for the Bulldogs. 

Taylor Blevins suffered the loss in the circle, giving up seven hits, seven runs, three walks and struck out five batters in five innings of work. Braylee Triplett pitched one perfect inning of relief.

The Bulldogs will play five games this week beginning with Symmes Valley ( OH ) at home on Monday. Travel to Boyd County on Tuesday. Road District games at Floyd Central on Thursday and Betsy Layne on Friday and back home at 2:00 on Saturday versus Lewis County.

“… Rough one to say the least. Hopefully we can knock some of the rust off and be ready for a five game week beginning at home on Monday against a good Symmes Valley, Ohio squad.”
