Louisa, Ky. — It only took Lawrence Co. Boys Soccer four years to capture a 15th Region title and advance to the state tournament which will open tonight against Somerset at the LCHS Soccer complex.
Luke Johnson has scored 42 goals this season.
The SoccerDawgs are 15-2-2 on the year and haven’t lost since a 1-0 defeat against Rowan Co. on September 7th.
Somerset the winners out of the 12th region are 11-5-1 on the season and have won 6 in a row.
The Bulldogs are led by Sophomore Blake Maynard with 46 goals and Senior Luke Johnson with 42 goals, Logan Southers and Andrew Vinson 4 goals each, Ryder Brown 3 goals, Ryland Brady and Sam LeFever 2 goals each, Brian Nelson, Joey Moore, Will Dillow and Micheal Preston 1 goal each.
Maynard and Johnson have also combined for 43 assists this season.
Goal Keeper Trenton Adkins has been outstanding, he has only allowed 17 goals all season with 9 shutouts and 128 saves. Adkins has also scored 3 goals.
Winner of tonight’s game will play the winner of Covington Catholic ( 11-8-5 ) at Montgomery Co. ( 15-7-2 ) at a site and time to be determined.
