The Lawrence county fair board has decided to cancel this year’s festivities because of restriction in place for the Covid-!9 protection. However, other livestock and other events including a horse show later on in the season, FB president Rick Blackburn wrote in a message to the media Friday afternoon.
Here is what he had to say:
“…It is with deepest regret the Lawrence County Fair Board, LLC has decided to cancel the 2020 Lawrence County Fair.
We were advised by the KY Department of Agriculture that we could have a fair but only under the guidance from Lawrence County Health Department and CDC guidelines. At this time our fair cannot operate under the current conditions of the guidelines set forth. We intend to have a livestock show for 4-Hers to exhibit their animals and a horse show at a later date in the year.
Lawrence County Fair Board is using this time to create a wider variety of events for the 2021 Lawrence County Fair, we want to thank each of you for supporting the fair. We hope to see you at our livestock/horse show and at the 2021 Lawrence County Fair… “
