FEBRUARY WEATHER CLOSES SCHOOLS, GOVERNMENT OFFICES IN LOUISA

Blaine Volunteer Fire Department – BVFD Roads are very slick and use caution on 201 south we have single vehicle MVA everyone is ok Please drive safe.

 

LOUISA, Ky. — Streets and lawns amidst the hills in the area were covered with a blanket of wet snow this morning as weather casters had predicted. In Blaine, roads were slick this morning causing at least one accident with no injuries.

School official in charge of announcing closures, DPP Anna Prince sent out the announcement at 5:47 this morning as the snow began to fall.

Louisa mayor Harold Slone posted on his FB page at 9:00 am that city offices are closed.  County offices are closed today as well as Circuit court facilities.

Library services at the Lawrence County Library are closed today due to inclement weather and the the Extension office is open on a two hour delay.

Rain is expected for tonight and tomorrow raising concern for flooding.
