On Friday, Nov 15th, a field trip was organized for younger students from Blaine, Fallsburg, and Louisa West Elementary Schools.

The trail walk, a unique learning experience, involves placing storybook pages under weather-protective covers at various parts of the walking trail. Students read the book pages in order, completing the story by the trail’s end.

This innovative activity is designed to foster a love of reading in young children and encourages outdoor activity. The Storybook Trail Walk is a testament to our strong community spirit, being a collaborative project.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our community partners, including the LC Tourism Board, the LC Health Department, the UK LC Extension Office, and the Army Corp of Engineers, Huntington Division.

The Storybook Trail is located on KY 3215, at the degree coordinates of 38.09456 North and 82.68590 West. We invite you to experience this unique learning adventure with your kids the next time the weather is nice!
