A Pike County, Kentucky man who was apparently wanted on six court bench warrants and an out of state fugitive warrant, along with a Pike County, KY. woman, were both arrested after a high-speed chase came to an end in a ditch in Pike County and police found meth in the car.

According to the arrest citation from the Kentucky State Police Post 9 in Pikeville, trooper Nicholas Taylor was patrolling U.S. 460 on early Tuesday evening, October 8, when he spotted a pickup truck with a broken windshield traveling along the highway.Trooper Taylor attempted to pull it over, but the truck sped away instead, leading to a pursuit reaching speeds of 90 miles an hour.

Further on in the citation by Trooper Taylor, he noted in the report that the truck was weaving all over the road, and that the chase finally came to an end when it got stuck in a ditch at Flanary Branch.

The driver, who was identified as Austin Slone, 30, of Pikeville, KY., failed a field sobriety test and then passed out in the police car after he was arrested.

A search of the truck located more than 2 grams of meth, along with a large amount of cash and several plastic bags.

Neither Austin Slone nor his passenger, identified as Elisha R. Robinson, 40, of Robinson Creek, KY., would claim ownership of the drugs, so both were arrested for meth trafficking and possession of drug paraphernalia.
