CSX Schedules Crossing Closures for Emergency Repairs in Knott, Johnson, and Lawrence Counties

PIKEVILLE, Ky.(Aug 30, 2024) – CSX advises the public of crossing closures for emergency rail repairs. Crossings may be closed for up to 48 hours. CSX will close the following crossings beginning at 6 a m:

  • -Knott County
    -KY 1088 MP 8.0 Yellow Creek Rd-Wednesday, September 4-6
  • -Johnson County
    -KY 581 MP 0.53-Tuesday, September 3-5
    -KY 1107 MP 5.9-Main St.-Tuesday, September 3-4
  • -Lawrence County
    KY 2037 MP 1.9 Gallup Rd-Monday, September 9-10

Accommodations have been made for school bus traffic. All inquiries should be directed to CSX. Please pay close attention to the detour signage posted throughout the area.

Schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
