Huntington, W. Va. — Louisa native and Marshall Sophomore pitcher Bryce Blevins won the Sun Belt Conference ‘pitcher of the week’ for the fourth time after his outing against Georgia St. last week.

Blevins is only the third player in conference history to win four weekly awards in the same season.

Blevins is leading the conference in earned run average at 2.59 and is scheduled to start on Saturday at James Madison. First pitch slated for 6:00 in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Marshall Sophomore Bryce Blevin

PLAYER’S COMMENTS

“… When I received the news that I got the award for the 4th time, it was truly a blessed feeling. College baseball is a long season and there are many highs and lows and all season I have made it a point to be positive in every situation, good or bad. In each game that I have pitched, my teammates have made some big time plays behind me a lot of times so I truly do not look at this award as an award just for me. I look at it as a team award because there a big reason that this award was rewarded to me. The work that you put in will always pay off and that’s what I can truly say by winning this award for the 4th time. I’m truly thankful!”
