Lewis W. Roberts 

1927 –2016

Lewis W. Roberts 89 of Prichard, WV went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday August 17, 2016 following a long illness.

Lewis was born June 27, 1927 at Hewlett, WV a son of the late Calvin and Susie Parks Roberts. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his siblings Floyd, Percy, Logan, Edward, Harrison, Eunice Sams, Roberta Meredith, and Amanda White.

Lewis was a loving husband, dad, and papaw, who proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a retired material handler at Houdaille Industries and also was a retired Tri State Airport employee. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Huntington Lodge #64 and the Big Hurricane Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his loving wife and caregiver for 65 years Martha Hazlett Roberts; a daughter and son-in-law Rhonda and Bob Compton also of Prichard, WV; a son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Patty Roberts of Wayne, WV; two grandsons Rob Compton of Ona, WV and Zachary Roberts of Middletown, CT; several nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends. The family would like to especially express their appreciation to Georgia Lawhon who was a special caregiver and also Dr. Marc Workman for his care through the years.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 20 at 2:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Ratcliffe and Bro. Tony Perry officiating. Burial will follow with military honors at the Bean Cemetery on Centerville Road Prichard, WV.

Friends may visit the family on Friday August 19, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home.
