On the first drive of the game Sherman drove inside the 15-yard line before Rebel defensive back Bryton Slone made a nice leaping interception at the one-yard line.
After a scoreless first quarter Peyton Rice put the Rebels on the scoreboard with a 9-yard TD run and Jase Walker booted the PAT with 9:31 left in the first half.

The Tide made it 7-6 on an Eli Pauley to Chase Southern 47 yard touchdown with 8:03 left in the first half.
Tolsia took the lead on a Robert Evans to Greyson Golden 11-yard touchdown on 4th and goal and Walker added the PAT with 4:09 left in the 3rd quarter to make it 14-6.
After forcing a Sherman punt the Rebels couldn’t corral a muffed punt and Pauley made them pay with a 10 yard TD run to cut the lead to 14-12 with 1:45 left in the 3rd quarter.
After another Rebel miscue Pauley found a wide open Parker Platt for a 38 yard TD and then added the two-point conversion run for a 20-14 lead with 8:16 left in the 4th quarter.
After a Rebel fumble set up Sherman at the 2 yard line and two plays later Pauley punched it in from 1 yard and then connected with Platt for the for the two-point conversion to make it 28-14 with 4:57 left in the ballgame.
Tolsia wouldn’t go away after Bradyn Weaver recovered a fumble and Evans connected with Rice for a 25-yard touchdown and Walker added the PAT to cut the lead to 28-21 with 3:22 left in the game.
#4 Peyton Rice had two touchdowns in the loss at Sherman.
After forcing a Tide punt the Rebels would get one more shot with 23 seconds left and Evans connected with Golden for a big gain. After a QB spike with 2.7 seconds left and a Sherman timeout the Rebels set up for one more play but Evans was forced out of the pocket and couldn’t get much on the throw and it fell incomplete as time ran out.
Elijah Ekers led the Rebels in rushing with 100 yards on 11 carries, Robert Evans 69 yards on 15 carries, Peyton Rice 7 carries for 58 yards, Caleb Thompson 1 carry for 1 yard.
Evans was 10 of 21 passing for 188 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
Thompson caught 3 passes for 46 yards, Braylen Conn caught 2 passes for 56 yards, Greyson Golden 2 catches for 47 yards, Rice had 1 catch for 25 yards, and Ekers 1 catch for 14 yards.
On defense Bradyn Weaver and Evans had 8 tackles each, Chase Thompson, Rice, Bryton Slone and Caleb Thompson had 5 tackles each, Jameson Evans, Brody Christianson, Ryan Montcastle and Ekers had 3 tackles each.
The Rebels will host the Man Hillbillies ( 1-3 ) for Homecoming next Friday night.
Sherman will host the Tug Valley Panthers ( 4-1 ) next Friday night.
