Louisa, Ky. — Lawrence Co. Senior Ayrn Huffman surpassed the 1,000 mark for assists in a career in volleyball last week in a District victory over Prestonsburg.
On Monday the Bulldogs picked up a home win over the West Carter Comets.
On Tuesday the Dawgs went across the river to the Mountain state and traveled out Wayne and fell 3-0.
Lawrence County ( 6-6 ) will hit the road for a key District matchup with Betsy Layne on Thursday at 8:00.

COACH’S COMMENTS
“… Both games we had a slow start. We’ve got to work on hitting the ground running as soon as we get on the court. We made some adjustments with West Carter later in the game and was able to apply pressure by attacking more. I’m happy they were able to come back and win that one. West Carter has some good talent!”
“… Tuesday we weren’t able to apply pressure on Wayne. We missed quite a few serves and found ourselves out of position on hit defense. Wayne did a great job finding ways to score on us and although it didn’t go our way I am glad we were able to pick them up last minute. We will take this, learn from it, and hopefully apply that to Betsy Layne tomorrow.”
“… Senior Aryn Huffman reached her 1,000th career assist during our district win against Prestonsburg. This is a tremendous accomplishment and is a testament to her coachability and knowledge of the game, putting her teammates in positions to be able to attack the ball.
