LC LIBRARY BOARD SETS NEW TAX RATE TO 11.1%
The Lawrence County Public Library Board of Trustees had a Meeting on Monday August 10, 2026 at Noon at the Lawrence County Public Library, 102 W. Main Street, Louisa, Kentucky 41230. The LC Library Director Deena Meade was present along with the trustees including Lindsay Smith, Connie Fairchild, Lynn Perry, JoJo Triplett and Andie Maddix.
APPROVE JULY 2026 MINUTES
The July 2026 Minutes were unanimously approved with a Motion by Connie Fairchild and seconded by Lynn Perry.
APPROVE JUNE 2026 FINANCIALS
The June 2026 Financials were unanimously approved with a Motion by Connie Fairchild and seconded by Andie Maddix.

SET TAX RATE
The Board of Trustees had some discussion about the Tax Rate. The Board accepted the Compensating Rate which is 11.1%. Last year the LC Public Librarian Deena Meade said. The Library received $812,834.00 from Taxes and they should have collected $942,112.00, she said. Last year the Library Trustees accepted the compensating rate of 11.2%. Personal Property will be 11.22%, and Motor Vehicles will be 2.79%. The Board unanimously approved the Tax Rate with a Motion by Andie Mattix and seconded by Lynn Perry.
APPROVE BANKING CHANGES
The LC Public Library banks with First State Bank. The home office at First State Bank needs clarification of who can use the credit cards. Deena Meade, Brooke Walker and Ryan Scaggs will be the only credit card users. This will prevent fraud.
