Olin Gene Amburgey, 74 of Louisa, KY, formerly of Langley, KY, husband of Glenda Amburgey, passed away on May 28, 2026, peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born July 31, 1951, the son of Olin and Shirley Amburgey.
Gene was a loving husband, wonderful father, and proud papaw. Gene enjoyed hunting. He made turkey calls and was a member of the Wild Turkey Federation. He loved to play guitar and to sing with his friends. He was a retired Coal Miner.
Survivors include his wife Glenda Amburgey; sons Shaun (Priscella) Amburgey and Roger Collins; daughters April Johnson, Katrina (Justin) Ratcliff, Tabitha (Kevin) Hughes, and Lindsey Collins; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his sister Sherry Ann Amburgey.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents Olin and Shirley Amburgey; grandsons Phillip Jean Chaffins, Shaun Alexander Amburgey; and Jacob Russell Chaffins.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Amburgey and his family.
