Fort Gay, W.Va. (WVDN) —On Monday, May 11, 2026, Troopers from the West Virginia State Police Wayne Detachment responded to a two-vehicle traffic crash along US RT 52 near the intersection of Cedar Heights Road, Fort Gay, WV.
Through the investigation it was discovered that a Toyota Rav4, driven by Braden N Murry, 21, of Louisa, KY, was traveling northbound on US RT 52, when it crossed the centerline striking a tractor trailer head-on. Mr. Murry was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Christopher Keesee, 42, of Louisa, was the driver of the tractor trailer and he was uninjured.
The next of kin has been notified.
This investigation is still ongoing.

Wayne County wreck claims life
FORT GAY, W.Va. — One person was killed in a vehicle crash early Monday morning in Wayne County.
The wreck occurred on U.S. Route 52 in Fort Gay.
Authorities said the crash happened at a few minutes before 6 a.m.
An investigation into the wreck is underway.
WV511 reported that both eastbound and westbound lanes of the highway were closed in the area of the crash.
A spokesperson for the Wayne Co. State police said officials are notifying the family of the victim. We will bring that to you as soon as the information is released (which could be later today), she said.
