NOW IN TROUBLE AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL INVOLVING POSSESSION OF CHILD PORN: TERRY WESTON ROGERS, 29, OF PIKEVILLE, KY.,
A Pike County, Kentucky man charged with possession of child porn back in February 2026 has now seen his state case bumped up to U.S. federal court.
Terry Weston Rogers, 29, of Pikeville, KY., was arrested on February 26 after police discovered more than 1,000 images of child porn on his phone.
Terry Rogers now faces a federal charge of possession of child porn, the same charge that he faced in Pike Circuit Court. The key difference between the two cases is that his potential sentence in the state case would have topped out at 10 years, but the federal penalty can be twice as long (20 years).
Terry Rogers had been held in the Pike County Detention Center since his February arrest on a $250,000 bond until Wednesday, April 22, when he was released on a surety bond. The U.S. Assistant Attorneys’ Office of Eastern Kentucky has asked the judge to issue a new warrant for his arrest.
The judge obliged in the new arrest warrant request, which the U.S. Marshals Service carried out taking Terry Rogers back into custody on Friday afternoon, April 20, booking him back into the Pike County Detention Center at 3:14 P.M.
Terry Rogers has additional troubles in Pike County Court, stemming from his arrest on September 3, 2025; in connection with a pair of sexual assaults targeting female University of Pikeville students in the city parking garage, one on August 23 and another on August 27; was already at that time period had three pending criminal cases in Pike County, two for fourth-degree assault dating violence and one for third-degree criminal abuse of a child. All of those charges are also misdemeanors, punishable by up to a year in jail.
