Ironton, Ohio, Police Department contacted Louisa Police on Friday about the theft. They said they had received a report from U-Haul that Amber Lynn Mitchell, 39, of Louisa, had rented a truck from the company on March 21 and had not returned it.
When the company contacted Mitchell about the truck, she allegedly told them she was not bringing it back.
When a sheriff’s deputy went to Mitchell’s home to investigate, he found the truck sitting in the driveway and confirmed with Kentucky State Police that it had been reported as stolen.
Mitchell was arrested and charged with auto theft over $10,000. That charge is a felony, punishable by 5-to-10 years in prison.
