Louisa, KY — Mayor Harold Slone officially signed a proclamation today declaring the month of April as Child Abuse Prevention Month in the City of Louisa, reaffirming the community’s commitment to protecting children and strengthening families.
The proclamation highlights the importance of raising awareness about child abuse and neglect while encouraging citizens, organizations, and community leaders to work together to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all children.
“Every child deserves to grow up in a safe, supportive, and loving environment,” said Mayor Slone. “By recognizing Child Abuse Prevention Month, we are not only raising awareness, but also reinforcing our responsibility as a community to look out for one another and to support families in need.”
Throughout the month, the City of Louisa encourages residents to participate in local efforts that promote child well-being, including educational programs, community outreach, and partnerships with organizations dedicated to prevention and family support services.
Mayor Slone also urged individuals to remain vigilant and report suspected cases of abuse or neglect, emphasizing that prevention starts with awareness and action.
By coming together as a community, Louisa can help ensure a brighter, safer future for its youngest residents.
