Crum defeats Fort Gay to advance in the Wayne County Girls tournament

Fort Gay, W.V. — #5 seeded Crum opened up the Wayne Co. Girls Basketball Tournament with a 28-24 victory over #4 Fort Gay on Tuesday evening. 

Emily Marcum knocking down a free throw for the Lady Mountaineers. 

Emily Marcum led the Mountaineers with 12 points, Kerigan Holyfield added 9 points, Natalie Spaulding tallied 5 points and Jerzee Jude chipped in with 2 points. 

Crum went 10 of 17 from the free throw line. 

Fort Gay was led by Brynlee Waller with 11 points, Eastley Waller netted 5 points, Alayna Bailey scored 4 points, Zoey McCoy and Chelsey Damron had 2 points each. 

#5 Brynlee Waller leads a Lady Viking fast break. 

The Vikings hit 2 three pointers and went 2 of 4 from the free throw line. 

CMS 6 8 4 10 – 28 

FGMS 5 5 8 6 – 24 

Crum will advance to the semifinals and face #1 seed Buffalo on Thursday at Fort Gay.
