LAWRENCE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS INDICTED BLAINE, KY. MAN, AND HIS GIRLFRIEND FOR  PHYSICALLY ASSAULTING DEPUTY

JANUARY 9, 2026 – written by WADE QUEEN

THE PERFECT COUPLE FOR AN ARREST: CHRISTOPHER ERIC SONS, (PHOTO TOP), 45 OF BLAINE, KENTUCKY; AND CALLEE AMANDA WEST, (BELOW), 46, OF BLAINE, KY.

Deputies who were looking for a wanted man found their target, and ended taking his girlfriend into their custody also after she allegedly obstructed the officers and later showed her mindset in a physical manner

According to the arrest citation report, on Thursday night, January 8, Lawence County Sheriff Office deputies Tyler Laney and Joseph Osborne were attempting to serve an arrest warrant on a Lawrence County man, which also ended up taking his girlfriend to jail too on the charges of hindering prosecution and assaulting an officer.

The arrest citation report stated that both deputies went to a home on Route 201 in the Blaine area to serve a warrant on Christopher Eric Sons, 45, of Blaine, Kentucky; for a September 2025 Lawrence County grand jury indictment on the charges of:

* NO TAIL LAMPS;

*OPERATING ON SUSPENDED OR REVOKED OPERATORS LICENSE;

*WANTON ENDANGERMENT-1ST DEGREE-POLICE OFFICER; *FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, 1ST DEGREE (MOTOR VEHICLE).

Deputies Laney Osborne were met first by Christopher Sons girlfriend, Callee Amanda West, 46, of Blaine, KY., who told police he wasn’t there. The police arrest report said Callee West further told them they had broken up and he had been gone for a while.

Both deputies searched the home anyway, and where they found and arrested Christopher Sons when he was found hiding in a clothing rack in the basement.

Callee West was also arrested on the charge of: *HINDERING PROSECUTION OR APPREHENSION-2ND DEGREE; and she was placed in a police cruiser. When deputy Joseph Osborne went to speak with Callee West several minutes later, she allegedly forced her way out of the police cruiser. After Callee West was told to get back into the vehicle, the police arrest report says she refused and kicked deputy Joseph Osborne in the chest.

Callee West was ultimately forced back into the police cruiser and was given another charge for: *ASSAULT 3RD DEGREE-POLICE OFFICER OR PROBATION OFFICER; which is a felony.

Both Chriatopher Sons and Callee West were transported to, booked, and are being held in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville.
