NEW TAX BILLS COMING NOVEMBER 1, 2025…

The Lawrence County Fiscal Court had a Special Meeting on Monday, September 8, 2025 at the Lawrence County Courthouse, 122 S. Main Cross Street, Louisa, Kentucky 41230 at 9AM. LC Judge Executive Phillip Carter was in attendance along with LC Magistrates David Pinson, Rick Blackburn, Michael Mouse Holcomb and John Scaggs.

COMMENTS BY LC TREASURER CHRIS JOBE

Jobe said, “The tax bills will come out a little bit later this year than what they normally do because of the way they are printed. Instead of September the Tax Bills will come out on November 1, 2025.

SET 2025 COUNTY TAX RATE OF REAL ESTATE, TANGIBLE AND DOCUMENTED WATERCRAFT AND AIRCRAFT

A Motion was made to set the tax rate at 16.4% (Compensating Rate) by Michael Mouse Holcomb and seconded by David Pinson. None Opposed. Roll Call.

SET 2025 MOTOR VEHICLE AND WATERCRAFT TAX RATE

The 2025 Motor Vehicle and Watercraft Tax Rate is set at 16.4%. LC Clerk Chris Jobe said, “The Tax  Rate has been at 16.4 since 1983.” Motion by Michael Mouse Halcomb seconded by Rick Blackburn.

ACCEPT SPECIAL DISTRICTS TAX RATES

The LC Magistrates unanimously accepted Special District Tax Rates. Note: The court does not set the rate they are just approving the compensating rate. Motion by David Pinson seconded by Rick Blackburn.

AUTHORIZE GUTS NOT TO PRINT ANY BILL LESS THAN $10.00

The name of the program that prints out bills is called GUTS. The Court unanimously approved with a Motion by Michael Mouse Halcomb and seconded by Rick Blackburn to not print any bills less than $10.00.

CPPP RESOLUTION FOR ASPHALT

The Court unanimously approved asphalt for Bells Trace and Old Terryville Road.

Motion by David Pinson seconded by Michael Mouse Halcomb.

HB 6 GRANT RESOLUTION FOR EQUIPMENT 

The HB 6 Grant Resolution for equipment is $250,000. This item was unanimously passed with a Motion by Rick Blackburn seconded by Michael Mouse Halcomb.

HB 6 GRANT RESOLUTION FOR CHIP N SEAL

The HB 6 Grant Resolution for Chip N Seal is $75,000. This item was unanimously approved with a Motion by Michael Mouse Halcomb seconded by John Scaggs.
