U.S. Marshals, Louisa Police Department, and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office Collaborate in Arrest of Danuell Marcum
February 6, 2024 – Louisa, Kentucky: Today, a joint effort involving the U.S. Marshals, Louisa Police Department, and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office culminated in the apprehension of Danuell Marcum, 50, of Louisa, Kentucky. Marcum was sought on multiple charges, including being a Fugitive from Justice in Kentucky and two counts of Controlled Substance – Manufacture, deliver, or possess with intent to deliver a Scheduled I, II, or III substance in West Virginia.
Danuell Marcum had been the subject of an intensive investigation, with law enforcement officials working tirelessly to locate and apprehend her. The collaboration between federal and local law enforcement agencies proved instrumental in bringing Marcum to justice.
“Our agencies remain committed to working together to address criminal activity and uphold the rule of law,” said Greg Fugitt, chief of the Louisa Police Department. “The arrest of Danuell Marcum underscores our dedication to serving and protecting the residents of Louisa and Lawrence County.”
Marcum was lodged in the Big Sandy Region Detention Center where she awaits extradition where she will face charges related to her alleged involvement in the manufacture, delivery, or possession of controlled substances, as well as the charge of being a Fugitive from Justice in Kentucky.
The sheriff got the marshals coffee, and the police chief brought the doughnuts.
