Louisa, Ky. — Lawrence Co. ( 1-1 ) lost a fumble on fourth and goal with under a minute to go and fell 17-14 to Greenup Co. ( 3-0 ) on homecoming Friday at Luke Varney, Jr Memorial Stadium.

The Musketeers got on the board first with a Tyson Sammons 18 yard touchdown run and Carson Wireman booted the extra point for a 7-0 lead with 9:42 left in the first quarter.
Lawrence Co. answered with a Dylan Ferguson 1 yard touchdown but the PAT was blocked and Greenup Co. led 7-6 with 1:10 to go in the first quarter.
Wireman kicked a 22 yard field goal to give Greenup Co. a 10-6 lead with 6:23 left in the first half.

The Dawgs took the lead on a Talan Pollock 1 yard run and Ferguson made it 14-7 with the two point conversion run with 1:03 left before halftime.
After a scoreless third quarter, the Musketeers took the lead for good on a 22 yard touchdown pass from Sammons to Brady Howard and Wireman tacked on the PAT to set the final score of 17-14 with 7:48 left in the game.

The Dawgs will hit the road this Friday with a game at winless Russell ( 0-3 ).
Greenup Co. will host Boyd Co. ( 2-1 ) Friday night.
