18 ARRESTS IN LAWRENCE COUNTY IN THE SIX DAY PERIOD OF MARCH 21 THRU MARCH 26; PLUS ANOTHER ARREST OF A LAWRENCE COUNTY RESIDENT IN JOHNSON COUNTY
*NOTE: SEVERAL OF THE ARREST SUBJECTS HAD NO MUGSHOTS AVAILABLE, AS THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINSTVILLE FOR AN UNKNOWN REASON DID NOT PUBLISH PHOTOS FOR NEARLY FOUR DAYS STRAIGHT, FROM THE END OF MARCH 21 UNTIL ON MARCH, 25, THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN EVEN LESS PHOTOS IN THIS REPORT, HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR THE FACT THAT A LOT OF THE ARRESTED INDIVIDUALS WERE REPEAT OFFENDERS, SO THAT MADE IT POSSIBLE INSTEAD TO USE OLDER CRIME PHOTO MUGSHOTS WERE USED TO MATCH THEIR LATEST ARREST.
FROM MARCH 21 THRU MARCH 26, THERE WERE 86 INDIVIDUALS WHO WERE ARRESTED AND BOOKED INTO THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE. OUT OF THOSE 86 PEOPLE, 18 WERE FROM LAWRENCE COUNTY. A 19th PERSON WAS A LAWRENCE COUNTY CITIZEN ARRESTED IN JOHNSON COUNTY.
THE NAMES OF THOSE EIGHTEEN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN LAWRENCE COUNTY, AS WELL AS THE JOHNSON COUNTY ARREST, ARE THE FOLLOWING:
Virginia Burchett, 34, of Louisa, was arrested on March 21, 2017, at 6:51 P.M., by deputy Mason Keefer of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • NO REGISTRATION PLATES, • FAILURE TO REGISTER TRANSFER OF MOTOR VEHICLE, • FAILURE OF OWNER TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/ SECURITY, 1ST OFFENSE, • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 (AGGRAVATING CIRCUMSTANCE) 1ST OFFENSE.
Grover Shawn Copley, 40, of Fort Gay, West Virginia, was arrested on March 22, 2017, at 2:00 P.M., by deputy Rodney Lycans of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/ INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 – 1ST OFFENSE, • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.
Kandase Vicars, 23, Rush, Kentucky was taken into custody on March 22, 2017, at 7:38 P.M., by trooper Craig Morella, of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with: • FAILURE TO APPEAR.
Kyle T. Porter, 26, of Louisa, was arrested on March 23, 2016 at 12:48 P.M. by officer Billy C. Slone of the Kentucky Department of Corrections Division of Probation and Parole, and was charged with: FUGITIVE FROM ANOTHER STATE – WARRANT REQUIRED.
Terry L. Hensley, 42, of Louisa, was arrested on March 23, 2016 at 5:23 P.M. by officer Billy C. Slone of the Kentucky Department of Corrections Division of Probation and Parole, and was charged with: • PROBATION VIOLATION (FOR FELONY OFFENSE).
Richard L. Meade, 63, of Louisa, was arrested on March 24, 2017, at 11:59 A.M., by deputy Charlie Curnutte of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • BURGLARY, 3RD DEGREE, • CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON.
Caressa A. Prater, 28, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on March 24, 2017, at 1:33 P.M., by chief deputy Mark Wheeler of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • TAMPERING WITH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE ( 2 SEPARATE COUNTS ).
Gregory Shane Evans, 34, of Catlettsburg, Kentucky; was arrested on March 24, 2017, at 4:15 P.M., by patrolman officer Steven Wilburn of the Louisa Police Department and was charged with: • PUBLIC INTOXICATION-CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (EXCLUDES ALCOHOL), • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 2ND DEGREE – DRUG UNSPECIFIED, • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.
Robert D. Caudill, 38, of Louisa, was arrested on March 24, 2017, at 7:46 P.M., by patrolman officer Hunter James of the Louisa Police Department and was charged with: • SERVING PAROLE VIOLATION WARRANT.
Andrea S. Cantrell, 35, of Ulysses, Kentucky; was arrested on March 24, 2017, at 8:00 P.M., by a deputy of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • UNLAWFUL TRANSACTION WITH/MINOR 3RD DEGREE ( 2 SEPARATE COUNTS ), • FAILURE OF OWNER TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/SECURITY, 1ST OFFENSE, • LICENSE TO BE IN POSSESSION, • OPERATING VEHICLE WITH EXPIRED OPERATORS LICENSE.
Brandon L. Burchett, 25, of Louisa, was arrested on March 24, 2017, at 11:28 P.M., by deputy Mack Wilhite of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • FLAGRANT NON SUPPORT.
Phillip Jude, 52, of Inez, Kentucky; was arrested on March 25, 2017, at 2:55 A.M., by a deputy of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/ INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 – 1ST OFFENSE.
Brooke A. Keesee, 24, of Lexington, Kentucky, formerly from Louisa, was arrested on March 25, 2017, at 6:08 A.M., by trooper Forrest Newsome, of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with: • OPERATING MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER/ INFLUENCE ALCOHOL/DRUGS/ETC. .08 – 1ST OFFENSE, • CARELESS DRIVING, • IMPROPER TURN-DRIVE LANE-ENTER LIMITED ACCESS HIGHWAY.

David A. Hoeft, 53, of Louisa, was arrested on March 25, 2017, at 7:11 P.M., by a deputy of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • MENACING.
Travis E. Amanda Thomas, 34, of Dryden, Virginia; formerly from Louisa, was arrested on March 26, 2017, at 8:02 P.M., by patrolman officer Hunter James of the Louisa Police Department and was charged with: • TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (< 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE), • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE (HEROIN), • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA – BUY/POSSESS.
