WESTMORELAND, W. VA. — Lawrence Co. Youth football hit the road this past Saturday in youth league action and came away with two wins against the Vinson Tigers.

Lawrence Co. picked up another win this time on the road as Bulldog running back Gray Derifield scored 2 touchdowns one from 70 yards and one from 35 yards plus a two point conversion run, QB Chase Kendrick scored 1 rushing touchdown and went 4-8 passing with 55 yards, Mitchell Frazier and Jayson Vanhoose added two point conversions as well.

In the second game of the day Andrew Ratcliffe had three touchdowns on the day a 44 yard run a 13 yard run and also picked up a fumble recovery returning it 30 yards for a score, Ratcliffe also had a couple of two point conversion runs, Sam Lefever scored twice both on the ground once from 4 yards out and once from 22 yards out, Wyatt Branham had a 27 yard touchdown run, Connor York chipped in with 2 conversion runs, Jaden Adkins one conversion run and Braxton Davis hit Kason Staniford with a 2 point pass. The defense was lights out with 9 tackles for loss led by Linebacker Ty Brooks who had 5 tackles, a QB sack, forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

In the final game of the day the Bulldogs couldn’t get much going as the Tigers pitched the shutout.
Lawrence Co. will return to action this SATURDAY when they travel across the river to take on the Tolsia Rebels. First game of the day will be 10:00am. Then on Saturday the 21st Tolsia will visit Luke Varney Jr. Memorial stadium first game 10:00.
