YOUTH LEAGUE DAWGS CLOSE OUT REGULAR SEASON WITH THREE WINS; PLAYOFFS BEGIN THIS WEEKEND

Kenova, W. Va. — The Lawrence Co. Youth Football league closed out the regular season by winning three out of four games on Saturday.

Ceredo-Kenova 34 Lawrence Co. 0 ( D-Team ) 

In the first game of the day the Wonders got off to a fast start and never looked back against the Bulldogs in a 34-0 victory. 
The D-Team Dawgs ( 3-3 ) will be playing in the silver bracket in the playoffs and will host Buffalo-Putnam on Sunday. 

Lawrence Co. 36 Ceredo-Kenova 0 ( C-Team ) 

In the second game of the day the Bulldogs took control early as Colten Bentley went 55 yards for a touchdown on the third play of the game and also ran in the two point conversion. On the very next possession, Tyson Muncy took the handoff and went 37 yards for a touchdown and tacked on the two point conversion as well to make it 16-0.

The Bulldog defense forced a turnover on downs. And the very next play, Eli Block raced in from 35 yards out for a touchdown and it was 22-0 Dawgs. 
Bentley connected with Korbyn Dawson on a 25 yard catch and run touchdown to make it 28-0. 
The second half was back and forth. The only score was a 47 yard scamper from Dawson and Mikhail Mills added the 2 point conversion and set the final score at 36-0. 
The C-team Dawgs ( 6-0 ) will head to Barboursville this Saturday for the first round of the playoffs. 

Lawrence Co. 32 Ceredo-Kenova 0 ( B-Team ) 

In the third game of the day the Dawgs shutout the Wonders. 
The Bulldogs took the opening drive down the field and Lucas Block punched in a 2 yard touchdown for a 6-0 lead. Brayson Raines made it 12-0 on a 5 yard touchdown run.

Tucker Muncy connected with Raines on a 39 yard catch and run touchdown pass and the score was 18-0. Muncy then connected with Block for a 55 yard catch and run that made it 26-0 Bulldogs. 
On the third play of the 4th quarter, Muncy connected with Block once again this time for a 65 yard catch and run touchdown pass and Braxton Young added the two point conversion to set the final score at 34-0. 
The B-Team Dawgs ( 6-0 ) will also play at Barboursville Saturday in the first round of the playoffs. 

Lawrence Co. 36 Ironton 6 ( A-Team ) 

C-K doesn’t have an A Team so Lawrence Co. faced off against the highly touted Ironton Tigers in the last game of the day. 
Carson Evans got the Bulldogs on the board in the 2nd quarter by intercepting a pass and taking it back 54 yards for the touchdown and Jayce Napier added the two point conversion making it 8-0 Bulldogs.

After a Travis Tincher forced fumble, the Bulldogs marched 78 yards and capped it off with a 18 yard Napier touchdown run and Levi Hensley added the two point conversion making it 16-0 Bulldogs.
Ironton got on the board in the 2nd half with a 70 yard catch and run touchdown but could not get the two point conversion, setting the score at 16-6. 
The very next possession Hensley caught a screen pass from Evans and went 41 yards to pay dirt and Evans found Napier for the two point conversion making it 24-6. 
The Dawgs forced a three and out which led to a Hensley 51 yard touchdown catch from Evans. The conversion was no good, and the score was 30-6. 
Evans added a 41 yard touchdown run to set the final score at 36-6. 
The A-Team Dawgs ( 6-0 ) will play DC at Barboursville Saturday in the first round of the playoffs.
