LOUISA, KY. — Lawrence Co. Youth League football is headed to the Turf Bowl after a 30-0 victory over Tolsia in the A team game Saturday afternoon on a muddy Luke Varney Memorial Jr. Stadium field.

The Bulldogs avenged an earlier road loss to the Rebels and will play D. C. Is his undefeated on the season for the championship Saturday afternoon at Marshall University in Huntington, W. Va. around 2:30.
Talon Pollack returned an interception for a touchdown and also rushed for a touchdown. Will McDavid added two touchdowns on the ground.
The Bulldog defense was outstanding all game and held the vaunted Rebel offense in check.
Huntington 14 Lawrence Co. 12 ( Double Overtime ) B team.
In an absolutely great football game it was the Hawks coming out on top and advancing to the Turf bowl.
Both teams traded blows in regulation but couldn’t cross the goal as the game was scoreless after 32 minutes of non stop action.
In the first OT Huntington got in the board with a short TD run but missed the two point conversion.
The Dawgs tied it up on a QB sneak from Braxton Davis and had a chance to win the game but the two point conversion failed and the game went into double OT tied at 6.
Lawrence Co. had the ball first and Kaden Johnson bolted in from 10 yards out on the first play to make it 12-6 after the Dawgs missed on the two point conversion.
Huntington tied it at 12 and then went for the two point conversion and it was successful to win the game 14-12.
Lawrence Co. B team had a great year and have nothing to hang their heads about.

COMMISSIONER’S COMMENTS
“… To say the least, the future of LC football and cheer is bright! This was arguably the best season for Lawrence county youth football in our history. Our A team went though a lot of adversity and will be competing for a league championship.
“…All of our teams have been extremely competitive. We were 8 points from having 3 teams in the turf bowl. We were able to give out more than 20 cheer and football scholarships for children who could not afford to pay for registration.
“…Both C and B teams won conference championships. Our cheerleaders were grand champions. We were able to develop a sponsorship program where local businesses could easily donate money to our cause. Our financial situation allowed us to assist Martin County purchase equipment for their children. We have also been key in revitalizing the Tristate Football League.
“…Just overall, a wonderful season. I am blessed to have such wonderful children, parents, board members, and coaches.”
