LCHS Freshman
LCHS Sophomores
Even though the Lady Dawgs haven’t won a District title this might be the year with a ton of experience coming back led by senior Lexie Ratliff who average 13.8 and 6.4 Rebounds per game last season.
Freshman Kensley Feltner will run the point and has a year under her belt after averaging a team high 15.2 PPG and chipped in with 5 rebounds a game from her guard position.
Sisters Sophomore Kyleah Ward and 8th Grader Kaison Ward both over six foot tall will provide a presence on offense and defense.
Freshman Brooke Neal is a deep threat who connected on a team high 33 three pointers last season.
Junior Ellie Webb might be the teams best defender and Sophomore Tyra Hammond and 8th Grader Abby Nelson will come off the bench and provide depth.

COACH’S COMMENTS
“… We have the bulk of our team coming back, we will miss Kylie Maynard and Sheree Hay. They brought stuff to the table that won’t show up in the box score. We are young but have a ton of experience. We feel like we have the team to get to a region tournament and make some noise.”
“… We only have two upperclassmen but Lexie and Ellie have been great leaders, when we had preseason workouts she has been at every one and is leading the pack, she had a tough summer, she had really been dialed in and stepped up. she pay attention to the little things and holds the younger girls accountable.”
“… Some of our younger kids like Abby Nelson and Tyra Hammond will help us on the inside along with the Ward sisters. Really excited about them, they both had glimpses last season in some big games. Hopefully they both continue to make strides.”
“… Our young guards have been impressive so far, we have some seventh graders that may not help on the varsity level this year but Sophie Adkins and Abby Maynard can hold their own. Kensley Feltner and Brooke Neal are a year older with more experience which will help.”
“… We like the underdog role, nobody gives us respect even though we have made region appearance year after year, until we win a game in region or win a district title that won’t change. We had a lead last year at Halftime over Johnson Central and fell apart in the third quarter and couldn’t make a basket. I told the team we have to gain respect it won’t be just handed to us.”
“… We won’t to play fast we want to get easy baskets in transition before the Defense gets set. I have preached to our team get up and down the floor but be under control.”
“… Our schedule is tough, we play in the BJM Tournament at Tolsia early in the year, Berea Tournament, Anderson Co. along with Johnson Central and Shelby Valley so it’s not an easy road for us.”
Lone Senior Lexie Ratliff
PLAYER’S COMMENTS
“… It really is different being the only senior but they are a fun group that works really hard. They aren’t immature at all. We have fun together and are gearing up for a big year.”
“… Seems like I was just a freshman and now this is my final year. It has flew by I really can’t believe it’s almost over. I have played basketball my entire life and I’m playing the right and I’m looking forward to an exciting year.”
“ Over the summer I took a step back and I think that really helped me focus. I’m ready to play as hard as I can and lead this team. I’m 100% committed.”
“… I can’t wait to play in the Berea tournament and play against Ashland because I play with some of those girls over the summer with Bluegrass Ballers.”
“… We like the under dog role, it has been that way since I have been here. We have never won a District title so that is the goal this year along with making another Region tournament.”
