Mingo County, WV — A Mingo County man has been arrested after allegedly firing multiple shots at two women.
According to the Mingo County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies arrested 41-year-old Kelly Lawson of North Matewan on multiple charges after he was accused of shooting at two women with a 12-gauge shotgun and .22 caliber handgun.
Both victims told deputies Lawson was threatening to kill them and fired several shots in their direction. In the criminal complaint filed in Mingo County Magistrate Court, Lawson apparently had been drinking throughout the day and has also taken three pills containing codeine.
Lawson is charged with wanton endangerment, brandishing weapons, being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, domestic assault and assault.
