Sheriff Rick Thompson stated that over the past few days (5) drug suspects have been arrested for felony drug warrants. The warrants stemmed from four separate investigations by the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit.
Sheriff Thompson stated that during an investigation in the Kenova area the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit seized a distribution quantity of Crystal Methamphetamine from Andrea Ellis, of Huntington. Ellis was transporting the Methamphetamine concealed in her underwear. A second suspect was arrested during this investigation. Ellis is charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver, Conspiracy to Distribute 5 to 50 grams of Methamphetamine, and Pseudoephedrine Altered. Road Patrol Deputies assisted. Ellis turned herself in to the US Marshals Cuffed Task Force.
During an investigation in Lavalette Barry Watts, of Kiahsville, was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Crystal Methamphetamine and Pseudoephedrine Altered. Randy Maynard, of Wayne, was charged with Pseudoephedrine Altered. Both men turned themselves in on the warrants.
During an investigation in Fort Gay the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit interrupted a drug transaction where Shannon Maxie delivered Oxycodone. Maxie, of Louisa, is charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance. The US Marshals Cuffed Task Force arrested Maxie in Kentucky. The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Dept. assisted.
Fred Maynard, of Dunlow, was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Crystal Methamphetamine and Pseudoephedrine Altered during an investigation in the Lavalette area. Maynard turned himself in on the warrants.
