UPDATE: WAYNE SHERIFF’S MEN CAPTURE TWO SUSPECTS AFTER PURSUIT

Sheriff Rick Thompson stated that two people were arrested after a vehicle pursuit. 
 
Sheriff Thompson stated that the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Fort Gay area, and the driver, identified as Arlan ‘AJ’ Hodge, accelerated. Arlan was a fugitive from Ohio. The pursuit went south on US RT 52 until the vehicle veered to the right side of the roadway and crashed at Old Mill Creek Road. 
 
Arlan and the passenger, Kayla Cantrell, fled into the woods. Kayla was apprehended hiding in a residence nearby that she used to evade arrest. Kayla is charged with burglary, fleeing on foot, obstructing, and possession of Heroin. 
 
Arlan was later arrested and is charged with fleeing in a vehicle, fleeing on foot, persons prohibited from possessing firearms, and possession of Heroin. 
 
A handgun was recovered from the vehicle along with Heroin and other evidence. 
 
The WVSP assisted.

Sheriff Rick Thompson stated that the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit is seeking the publics help on locating a fugitive.

Arlan Hodge and and a passenger fled from the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit on US RT 52 and crashed near Bromley Ridge. Both suspects fled in the woods. The passenger was apprehended. Drugs and a handgun were seized from the vehicle. If you see Arlan please contact 911.
