WAYNE COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA FUGITIVE ARRESTED IN MARTIN COUNTY, KENTUCKY QUICKLY RECAPTURED AFTER ATTEMPT AT RUNNING AWAY
FORT GAY RUBE’S QUICK FLIGHT FROM JUSTICE ENDS CLUMSILY WITH WANTED MAN FALLING OVER EMBANKMENT FACE FIRST INTO CREEK WATERS

QUICK TRIP RUINED…BY AN UNPLANNED TRIPPING OF HIMSELF: TIMOTHY WAYNE ROBERTS, 44, OF FORT GAY, WEST VIRGINIA; WAS ARRESTED ON SEPTEMBER 12, IN MARTIN COUNTY, KENTUCKY; ON FUGITIVE WARRANTS FROM W. VA., TRIED TO RUN AWAY FROM THE COPS AFTER HE FLED FROM THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE, BUT HIS EFFORT WENT AFOUL AFTER HE TRIPPED WHILE RUNNING AND FELL OVER INTO THE WATERS OF A NEARBY CREEK.
A Wayne County, West Virginia man recently arrested in Martin County, Kentucky on a pair of fugitive warrants from his home state found himself in even more trouble when he allegedly ran out of the sheriff’s office in an attempt to escape.
Timothy Wayne Roberts, 44, of Fort Gay, W. VA., was arrested by deputy Justin Bellamy last Thursday, September 12 at around 5:00 P.M. Mr. Roberts was taken to the Martin County Sheriff Office, where he was taken to and was being held in the booking room.
While the booking room is typically locked, Timothy Roberts was able to get out by following a transport officer who was stepping out to take a phone call. From there, deputies say Timothy Roberts ran out of the office and into a parking lot where the Harvest Festival was being set up.
Timothy Roberts was recaptured when he ran down a creek bank and tripped, rolling into the creek waters.
In addition to the charges waiting for him in West Virginia, Timothy Roberts is now charged in Martin County with: *Escape, 2nd Degree; and *Fleeing Police, 1st Degree. Timothy Roberts remains in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville in Johnson County as of noon Thursday, September 19.
