Sheriff Rick Thompson stated that a wanted fugitive was arrested Monday by the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit after a vehicle pursuit.
The pursuit began on Spring Valley Road and continued to WV RT 75. The suspect then turned on to Walkers Branch and accelerated at a high rate of speed. The suspect turned around near Airport Road and nearly struck a Ceredo Police vehicle. The suspect fled back to the spring valley area and then went off
road in his pickup truck on Goodwill Road. The suspect then fled on foot into the woods.
The Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit took the suspect into custody a short time later in the Hubbards Branch area.
Sheriff Thompson stated that distribution quantities of Crystal Methamphetamine and Heroin were seized along with Marijuana, Ecstacy, Suboxone, Gabapentin, digital scales, packaging materials, and nearly $11,000 cash.
Christopher Mills is charged with Felony Fleeing in a vehicle, fleeing on foot, Felon in possession of a firearm,
Possession with Intent to Deliver X 5, and Pseudoephedrine Altered.
A 45 caliber 1911 handgun was recovered from the suspects vehicle. The suspect is a convicted felon and was currently on probation for drug charges.
The Kenova Police Department, Road Patrol Deputies, and Ceredo Police Department assisted.
