On Tuesday June 7, 2022 the “WhoLetTheDogsOut.org” visited Open Arms Animal Shelter formally the Lawrence County Animal Shelter in Louisa Kentucky off Isaac Park Road.
Cara Achterberg, Author and Co-founder of WALDO (WhoLetTheDogsOut.org) an organization that raises awareness and resources for homeless dogs and the heroes who fight for them.
What Waldo does…ADVOCATE thru journalism, photography, & film ASSIST shelters/rescues with grants & resources INVITES everyone to be a part of the solution and NETWORK to find solutions and save lives.
President of the Open Arms Animal Shelter in Lawrence is Kim Perry, Vice-President is Karen Salvaterra and Leonika Allen is Treasurer and Shelter Manager.
All board members attending with Acterberg for WALDO included Nancy Slattery Photographer, Karen Alden Volunteer Coordinator and Patty Larson who is the Grant Advisor.
So it’s a great pleasure for me to announce that Open Arms Animal Shelter in Lawrence County Kentucky is a “NO KILL ANIMAL SHELTER” and welcomes all Lawrence Countians to reach out and do your part for the dog’s lives. –Cara Achterberg
JUNE 2022 SHELTER TOUR kicked off on June 6, 2022 to Depart to Woodstock,VA and Saving Webster Dogs Cowen, WV then on June 7, the ladies were at the Lawrence County Humane Society in Louisa, KY then June 8th to Bibb County Animal Control in Brent, AL and Bradley County SPCA in Cleveland, TN then JUNE 9 Fitzgerald-Ben Hill County Humane Society in Fitzgerald, GA then JUNE 10 Mountain City Animal Shelter Mountain City, IN then ending the tour on JUNE 11 Regional Center for Animal Care and Protection in Roanoke, VA.To date, Waldo has been to 73 organizations in eleven states!
