COACH’S COMMENTS
“… I’m proud of how this team bounced back after the loss to Floyd Central in the district championship. They’ve been doing that all season long and have been so resilient. I’m very proud of them. Belfry is a good team, one that Lawrence County has never beaten before. We worked extremely hard in practice on our game plan and it paid off. We talked about execution over expectations and how we needed to do our part collectively to win this game and to not worry about making history or fulfilling anyone else’s expectations. If we play our way and set the pace, we can compete in every game.
“…This was one of the best games they’ve played all season and the most fun they’ve had as well. It’s the first ever Region win in Lawrence County history and we look forward to continuing our run Wednesday at 7:30.”
