Lawrence Co. Head Coach Autumn Blevins
“… Our varsity team went 1-1 on the night defeating Tug Valley & falling to Tolsia. Our girls battled in both games against tough competitors and we are grateful to both Tug Valley and Tolsia for coming to Lawrence County on a special night.”
“… One of the things I try to do for the team is provide life lessons. I constantly talk to them about how being a part of a team is more than just winning and losing. It is about being disciplined, on time, respecting others, taking constructive criticism, dealing with adversity, and being a support system for their teammates. Our community came together Monday night to support Shawn Murphy, a 2001 LCHS graduate, who is continuing to battle cancer. His daughter Dakota plays on our team. It was amazing and inspiring to see the effort everyone put in to making sure the Murphy family understands that we are with them as they navigate through this difficult journey.”
Tolsia Head Coach Andrea Prince
“…It’s always a big night when you go out and play two teams that are long standing rivals. Our young team went in nervous, but they pulled themselves together after a loss in a difficult first set and went on to win four sets in a row against two tough teams. We couldn’t be prouder of the team’s growth and determination this season.”
