Vernie Salmons, 86, of Fort Gay, WV went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 19, 2025.

Vernie was born June 8, 1939 to the late Howard and Cordalee (Copley) Salmons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frankie Salmons; son in law Mike Perry; and daughter in law Diana Salmons.

Mrs. Salmons was a member of Webb Free Will Baptist for over 60 years.

Survivors include her children Franklin (Willa) Salmons, Donald Mitchell (Malinda) Salmons, Kenny Ray (Edna) Salmons, and Josie Perry; 12 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; and sister Aileen Salmons.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Webb Church with Brother Adam Hooser and Brother Tommy Meddings officiating. Burial will follow in the Webb Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Monday, December 22, 2025 after 6:00 PM at Webb Church.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Salmons and her family.
