Charleston, W. Va. — For the second consecutive season Lady Rebel teammates Emily Artrip and Jacey Crum were named Class A All-State Honorable Mention by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association.

Both ladies helped Tolsia to within one game of the state tournament losing to eventual State Champion Gilmer Co. in the Region IV Championship game.

Emily Artrip had a great senior campaign scoring 13 points per game, pulling down 4.5 rebounds, picking up 3.0 steals and dishing out 2.0 assists per contest.

Junior Jacey Crum averaged 7.0 ppg, 3.5 rebounds, 1.8 assist and 2.5 steals per contest.

Crum will head into her senior season and will be a counted on heavily after the Rebels graduate three from this years team.

Tolsia Head Coach Ric Morrone

COACH’S COMMENTS

“…We are very proud of both Jacey and Emily on being recognized for Honorable Mention All State. They both have worked very hard to be the best players they can be. Jacey is a fierce competitor and defensively many times takes on the opponents top player. She can shoot the three-pointer and score in the mid-range equally effectively. She is versatile and can play multiple positions.”

“… Emily can shoot the three effectively as well as get to the rim. She can score at all three levels and is very versatile in the all-around game. It will be exciting to see what the future holds for both of these young ladies, they are great players, but even better people.”
