Sheriff Rick Thompson stated that two Fugitives from Kentucky were arrested in the Genoa and East Lynn area during a joint operation with Deputies, the Wayne County Sheriff Drug Enforcement Unit, and US Marshals.
Sheriff Thompson stated officers attempted to stop Joshua Stone on Joel’s Branch when he attempted to flee and struck two police vehicles. Joshua then fled on foot. While Fleeing Joshua dropped an AR style 22 pistol.
Joshua was taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit.
Joshua was wanted from Kentucky for Escape and a Parole Violation. He was also wanted out of West Virginia for Grand Larceny. Joshua is additionally charged with Fleeing- Vehicle, Fleeing on foot, Brandishing a weapon, Prohibited Person from Possessing a Firearm, and Destruction of Property.
In a separate incident a traffic stop was conducted on the Right Fork Little Lynn Creek and a Fugitive from Boone County Kentucky was taken into custody.
Leighton Lee was wanted for Distribution of obscene material to minors, Promoting a sexual performance by a minor, and Unlawful use of electronic means originating or received within the Commonwealth to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities.
