Gartins shot to death, Jeep Liberty stolen
UPDATE (TUESDAY APRIL 5:
(Ashland, KY) – On Monday, April 4, 2016 The Kentucky State Police in Ashland obtained additional arrest warrants on Stanley Webb Jr. for the following:
Murder (2 Counts)
Information and evidence obtained during the course of the investigation led to the issuance of the two arrest warrants for murder.
Stanley Webb Jr. is currently being held in the Franklin County Detention Center located in Columbus, OH. Extradition is currently pending.
KSP spokesperson Trooper 1st Class Mike Murriel said the murders were committed between Friday afternoon and Saturday when the call came in. He refused to give out any further details.

BLAINE, Ky. — Kentucky State Police are investigating a double murder that occurred in the Knob Branch area of Blaine.
Investigators say the incident happened at 6:15pm on Saturday, where, according to the State Police, the bodies of Lois “Peggy” Gartin, 79, and her stepson Michael Gartin, 52, were found dead inside their home from gunshot wounds.
Lawrence Co. Coroner Mike Wilson said the victims were each shot one time.
Troopers say that a Jeep Cherokee belonging to Lois Gartin was stolen from the home by Stanley Webb, Jr., 47, of Logan, OH, a relative of the Gartins.
Webb Jr. was arrested Sunday in Columbus, Ohio under the charge of Theft by Unlawful Taking of an automobile and a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

(Ashland, KY) — The Kentucky State Police in Ashland is seeking the public’s assistance for any information related to the murders of Lois and Michael Gartin of 1234 Knob Branch in Lawrence County.
On Saturday April 2, 2016 at 6:14 PM The Kentucky State Police Post 14 Ashland received a report stating Lois C. Gartin, age 79, and Michael Gartin, age 52, of 1234 Knob Branch, Blaine, KY had been located at the residence and were deceased.
Troopers and Detectives responded to the scene and began an investigation. During the course of the investigation it was determined both individuals had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. In addition to the murders, a 2003 Jeep Liberty belonging to Lois Gartin had been stolen from the residence by Stanley Webb Jr. (a relative of Lois and Michael Gartin.)
Information and evidence was recovered which led to the following development:
On April 2, 2016 arrest warrants were obtained on Stanley Webb Jr, age 47, of Logan OH for the following:
Theft by Unlawful Taking Automobile
Convicted Felon in Possession of Firearm
On Sunday April 3, 2016 at approximately 3:26 PM Stanley Webb Jr. was located and arrested by Columbus Ohio Police Department.

Yesterday, April 3, 2016, around 2:30 pm officers were dispatched to a home on Ruma Rd on a domestic dispute where the callers family member was a suspect in the double homicide of their 79-year-old aunt & 52-year-old cousin in Blaine, Kentucky.
Both victims were found in a home with gunshot wounds Saturday night. Officers also received info that the suspect, 47-year-old Stanley Webb Jr. of Logan, Ohio, was driving a stolen vehicle. Family members let Police Comm Tech Devault know that they believed Webb was armed with a gun and trying to get into their home.
While patrol officers, in addition to Officers Lavey & Zimmerman, were responding to the area, the caller advised that the suspect left and provided a very detailed description to include the license plate. Officers Zimmermann and Lavey, with assistance from CPD’s Helicopter Unit Officers Kinsey & Ferguson, located the suspect vehicle in the area of Lockbourne Rd. & Obetz Rd. where a pursuit began. The suspect eventually stopped, prior to officers attempting any stopping tactics, and was taking into custody.
The investigating jurisdiction from Kentucky responded and the suspect was held on detainer for homicide and motor vehicle theft. #CPD #teamwork
