Sheriff’s deputy, LPD combine on arrest
Yesterday, 11-6-17 the Lawrence County Sheriff’s office conducted a traffic stop on a 2001 Kia Sportage on Madison Street for a registration plate violation. During the stop it was learned that the operator Thurman Endicott, Jr., 30, of Louisa had a suspended license.
During the stop the Louisa Police Department’s K9 alerted on the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle a glass methamphetamine pipe was located that the occupants had attempted to hide. The operator was arrested and charged with operating on a suspended license, failure of non-owner to maintain insurance, possession of controlled substance 1st degree (methamphetamine) and tampering with physical evidence.
A passenger, Devana Lycans, 28, of Fort Gay, WVA was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substance 1st degree, methamphetamine and tampering with physical evidence with more charges pending for both subjects.
Chief Deputy Mark Wheeler is in charge of the investigation. Louisa Police Chief Greg Fugitt and Sgt Stephen Wilburn with the Louisa Police Department assisted on the stop.
