Treva Short, 85, of Louisa, KY went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at her home. Treva was born July 17, 1939 in Louisa, KY to the late William and Stella (Webb) Watts.

Treva was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a homemaker and had many careers. Treva was the first manager of the first Dollar General in Louisa, taught at Head Start and owned Treva’s Tan 4 Seasons and Fancy Frills Children’s Boutique. She was a member of Louisa Free Will Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Billy F. Short; sisters Ruby Watts, Madge McCloud, Edith Brewer, Hazel Scott Edwards, and Lois Hewlett; and grandson in law Josh Chinn.

Survivors include her children John (Sheila) Short and Dwana (Brad) Gauze; grandchildren Kaydee (Mitch) Castle, Brittany Chinn, Larisa (Wade) Skaggs, and Alayna (Nick) Lucas; great grandchildren Emma Castle, Ella Castle, Parker Castle, Hadley Skaggs, Ryleigh Jo Chinn, and Rhett Skaggs; sister in law Carole Yetter; nieces Carolyn Ferguson, Brenda Akers, Stella Adams, Trina Jenkins, Cindy McCloud, and Connie Brewer; and too many others to name.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Louisa Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit the family Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 11:00 AM until time of service at the Louisa Free Will Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Louisa Free Will Baptist Church Children’s Program.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Short and her family
