MAJOR TRAFFICKING OF METH TO OUR IMMEDIATE WAYNE COUNTY-LAWRENCE COUNTY AREA: BRIAN ADKINS. 27  & BRITTANY L. HALL, 27 , BOTH FROM FORT GAY, WEST VIRGINIA, WERE ARRESTED ON SUNDAY MORNING, MARCH 24, IN SCIOTO COUNTY, OHIO; AFTER A TRAFFIC STOP REVEALED THEY WERE CARRYING OVER TWO POUNDS OF METH, ALONG WITH COCAINE AND FENTANYL, AND TWO HANDGUNS.

Bad driving led to even worse troubles after a Wayne County, West Virginia man and woman were taken to jail in a southern Ohio county after a traffic stop revealed two pounds of meth inside their vehicle during this past weekend.

According to the Scioto County Sheriff Office, on the very early morning hours of Sunday, March 24; a deputy on patrol noticed a vehicle in which the driver was allegedly driving recklessly, and was pulled over on U.S. Route 52 just past exit 522 near Haverhill Ohio Furnace Road.

During the traffic stop, the deputy saw a firearm underneath the gear shift and a black drawstring bag containing a gallon sized baggie with approximately 2.04 lbs. of a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine.

The drawstring bag contained another gallon sized baggie containing an additional 31 grams of a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, a knotted bag containing approximately 78 grams of a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine, a silver package containing approximately 17 grams of a pink substance believed to be fentanyl, several small pink baggies, and a scale.

The total street value of all of the drugs was estimated to be about $20,480.00.

The man in the vehicle had a clear pipe with white residue, pills, and cash totaling $46.00 in his left pocket.

The woman had $1,294 in cash on herself.

The male suspect who was driving the vehicle, who was identified as Brian Adkins, 27, from 193 Left Fork Mill Road, of Fort Gay, W.VA., was arrested on two counts of possession of drugs, two counts of trafficking in drugs, and having weapons while under disability. Brian Adkins also had a fugitive warrant on him in Kentucky.

Also arrested was the female passenger in the vehicle, who was identified as Brittany L. Hall, 27, from 132 Wheeler Hollow Road, of Fort Gay, W.V., was charged on two counts of first degree possession of drugs, and two counts of first degree trafficking in drugs.

Both Brian Adkins and Brittany Hall appeared in the Portsmouth Municipal Court for an arraignment on Monday, March 25.
