COACH’S COMMENTS
“… It started in the offseason when we went to Rock Hill and played in that league, took all underclassman and those guys battled every week and never backed down. Those same guys have been finishing in the front when we run are the same 5-6 guys that was with us all summer. We don’t have a starter returning from last season after losing five seniors in Cole Blackburn, Dorian Reece, Brady Smith, Bray Mollette and Jayden Booth. We also lost CJ Waller and Zach Waller who transferred and Robert Evans decided not to play this year. Senior Dakota Blackburn is the only returning player that played a bunch of minutes last season. Sophomores Keeton Blackburn and Kyndul Kincaid will have to step up and give us some big minutes this year along with Senior Landon Spence and Freshman Steeler Salmons.”
“… The guys have been great so far in practice, we are looking for players to step into some roles that they might not be ready for but they will give max effort and that is all we can ask for. Coach Switzer and Coach Prince told them if you make a mistake and you are going to make them make sure you do it wide open. We want to be disruptive on the defensive end and cause havoc. We have to try and get easy buckets when we can. That is what we have been preaching all preseason long.”
“… Our schedule is tough once again and we play who we can get to play us. I have tried to play everyone in our region and some just refuse to play us for whatever reason. We are young and very inexperienced and will do the best that we can.
“… Our effort, attitude and energy is crazy right now, Dakota Blackburn is leading, Keeton Blackburn is playing well inside and Steeler Salmons is coming right along as a freshman. The whole group has been fun to work with, this is my fifth year and probably the best attitudes that I have dealt with. They will make mistakes but will do it going wide open. I really look forward to practicing with these guys.”
