Tolsia Head Coach Jeff Wallace
COACH’S COMMENTS
“… Jared Switzer is a three year starter and controls centerfield for us along with some duties on the mound. He has hit around .375 the last three years combined. He hit .428 last year and is a stolen base threat every time he gets on and that is quite often.”
“… Kyler Speer is also a 3 year starter and has been our number 2 hitter for the biggest part of that time. He signed to play college ball at KCU. Since signing he has been hitting a torrid .425 clip. I know he was putting pressure on himself early and he struggled but since he signed has been more relaxed and playing well.”
“… Blake Conn is the guy you love to coach he comes to work every day brings his dinner bucket and has made himself a pretty good player. He has hit in the 5 spot the last 2 years and is having a really good year.”
“… Ray Perkins is our left fielder and he is really good at running down balls in the gap and turning would be doubles into long singles. He’s been hitting well as of late after battling through a bruised hand. He was limited on his bat control for about 3 weeks.”
“…Trey Smith is catching for us again this season which makes his 3rd year behind the dish. He has a special place in folklore at Tolsia High School for being the guy who hit the first homer by a Rebel on the new field.”
“… Jacob Copley came out this year after having to cut his year short last season. He worked hard and you can just tell that attribute alone will bode well for him when he starts his career after he graduates.”
