THE COVE…at Yatesville Lake, Opening Day!
By Susan Salyer
On Saturday June 11, 2022 Lawrence County Judge-Executive Phil Carter and Deputy-Judge Vince Doty’s hard work paid off on Opening Day at the Cove. We attended the opening in the afternoon at 3:15 when the sun came out and visitors were arriving by the carload.
The gravel road leading to the county run facility is fresh so be ready for a couple miles of exploring on your way.
Featuring a new ‘Water Park’ this year (see video above) with new nice inflatables in about 12 feet of water, The Cove is already making a comeback from the Covid years.
The Cove will be open Tuesday through Sunday, 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. THE COVE is located at 606 Beach Road, Louisa, Kentucky. It is located off HWY 1185, Beach Road on the left hand side, before the Yatesville Marina.
General Admission for swim only $1.00 per person or $5.00 for a carload.
Adult Admission (18 +) for Swim, Inflatables and Slide -$8.00 per person
Child Admission (under 18) for Swim, Inflatables and slide-$5.00 per child
(children must be 48 inches tall for the Inflatables and 42 inches for slide)
All children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, adult.
“We are trying to keep the costs low, but do have to charge a small fee to cover maintenance and expenses, Judge/executive Phil Carter’s office said on his website.
Kayak Rentals are $5.00 for 2 hours or $10.00 for all day.

This is great news for our county and for our people to have something that they can take kids and grandkids to that won’t break them up and still be good clean fun for all .
We were taking a boat ride and look over to see this fun site! We docked the boat and went to buy tickets only to be told our kids were not tall enough. Now we have a boat full of crying grandchildren! Thanks a lot!
Are you still open???
