ASHLAND, Ky (June 29, 2023) – On June 28, 2023 at approximately 1426 hours, Trooper William Galloway was patrolling in the area of 29th street in Ashland when he observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation.
Upon stopping the vehicle, he identified the driver as Tony Teston. While speaking with Mr. Teston, Trooper Galloway noticed signs of impairment and began field sobriety tests.
As Trooper Galloway went to place Mr. Teston in handcuffs, he attempted to elude arrest and began running on foot across 29th street. Trooper Galloway gave chase, and after numerous commands to stop, he deployed his agency issued Taser. Both probes made contact with Mr. Teston and at that time he fell to the ground and Trooper Galloway was able to place him in handcuffs.
Mr. Teston was transported to the Boyd County Detention Center and charged with the following:
* Oper Mtr Vehicle U/Influence 1st,
* Fleeing or Evading 1st Degree on Foot,
* Poss of Cont Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense Methamphetamine,
* Resisting Arrest and other traffic related citations.
The case remains under investigation by Trooper William Galloway.
