Sterling Hayes, 77, of Webbville, KY went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 17, 2021 at his home.
Sterling was born December 20, 1943 in Lawrence County, KY to the late Howard and Elva (Short) Hayes. He was preceded in death by his son Sterling Hayes, Jr., daughter Mollie Hayes Dixon, and five sisters.
Sterling was of the Free Will Baptist faith. He was an avid fox hunter and loved to play guitar and sing.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years Opal Hayes; sons Howard (Angela) Hayes, Nick (Sabrina) Hayes, and Eric Hayes; ten grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 1:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ronald Childers officiating. Burial will follow in the Hayes Family Cemetery.
Friends may visit the family on Monday, December 20, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel.
