COUNTING OUR BLESSINGS ACROSS THE COMMONWEALTH

Thanksgiving is a special time across Kentucky. As families gather around the table, it gives us a chance to slow down and reflect on what truly matters. Faith, family, hard work, and community have always been the backbone of our commonwealth, and this season reminds us how much we have to be thankful for.

We are blessed with a beautiful state, from the hills of eastern Kentucky to the farmland of the bluegrass and the river towns in the west. What truly makes Kentucky special is its people. Every day, Kentuckians step up to serve their neighbors and strengthen their communities. Whether its teachers shaping young minds, law enforcement keeping our streets safe, health care workers caring for the sick, or farmers working before sunrise to feed our families, your dedication does not go unnoticed.

This time of year also reminds us to look out for one another. The holidays can be difficult for those who are grieving or far from home. If you know someone who may be feeling alone this season, take time to check in or invite them to share a meal. A simple act of kindness can make all the difference.

Let us remember military families this holiday season, as their loved ones may be away from home or abroad. We are so grateful for the service of those in uniform and the sacrifices they often make around the holidays.

As you gather with loved ones, please travel with care. The roads will be busy, and your safety is important. If you’re visiting family, attending a community event, or simply heading out to church or a neighbor’s house, take your time and be mindful of others.

Looking ahead, the Kentucky General Assembly is preparing for the 2026 session, which is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, January 6. As your state senator, I am focused on listening to the people I represent and pushing for commonsense policies that strengthen families, grow our economy, and protect the values that make Kentucky a place we’re proud to call home.
