A local man died Wednesday evening during a house fire in Louisa, Ky. in Lawrence County. The house fire was reported about 5 p.m. along Mattie Road.
Officials say there was one fatality, Michael Sloas, 37 years old of Louisa.
Timothy snd Rosemary Sloas were inside the house but made it out safely. Unconfirmed reports said that Michael was trying to put out the fire when he was overcome with smoke. The Fire Marshal is investigating.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Castle officiating. Friends may visit the family on Monday, February 22 after 6:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home.
